The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco are seeking a Digital Production Coordinator. The Digital Production Coordinator provides direct support to the Digital Production Manager. This position performs a wide variety of administrative tasks requiring responsibility, initiative, accuracy, diplomacy, tact, and problem solving skills. The Coordinator works effectively and collegially with a broad range of staff members.


Typical Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assists in the preparation of content briefs, ongoing website user-testing, and digital research, and makes recommendations to streamline processes and implement new/emerging digital technologies. Proactively locates opportunities for institutional digital growth and creates proposals to execute.
  2. Manages the publication of regular content updates on and other websites, including but not limited to the Intranet and online communities, including entering text- and image-based content into Content Management System, verifying the correct display of content, and routing content for internal approvals.
  3. Closely tracks and maintains current production schedules through project management system to ensure content launches and is delivered on time. Consolidates and compiles content edits for web pages and other related projects. Communicates production timelines, deliverables, and updates to appropriate teams.
  4. Routes and traffics content and visual assets internally and externally. Works with Marketing, Communications, Education, Photo Services, and other appropriate teams to proactively pursue and ensure content is current and relevant.
  5. Assists in developing and maintaining image/asset workflow in tandem with Marketing, PR, Education, and Photo Services teams. Helps clear rights for image usage in non-commercial channels, as appropriate.
  6. Manages the technical coordination, content, and design production of museum electronic signage.
  7. Assists with digital department reports; performs light clerical duties, including photocopying, filing, and collating; schedules meetings and takes minutes.
  8. Manages campaign maintenance for AdWords Google Grants account and regularly creates reports analyzing web analytics. Primary manager of monthly web reporting; responsible for data compilation and messaging to the appropriate outside departments.
  9. Keeps abreast of current digital trends and industry best practices. Regularly conducts research and attends industry relevant workshops and trainings.


Minimum Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university.

Work Experience: Three years of administrative or project coordination experience in museum, creative agency, and/or marketing firm.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects, maintain commitments, and meet strict deadlines in a highly demanding and fast-paced work environment.
  • A high level of initiative, problem solving skills, organization, and project management capabilities.
  • Knowledge of business English and basic business math skills; modern office methods, practices, and procedures; filing and organizational systems.
  • Computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and database management.
  • Ability to create and edit visual assets for web and digital platforms in Adobe CS.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and appropriate working relationships.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
  • Flexibility in meeting shifting demands and priorities.
  • Ability to work simultaneously on multiple projects in a complex, highly demanding, and fast-paced work environment.


Step 1 of the pay range is $22.13 per hour.
