Job Summary

The Senior Digital Media Producer will be a key member of the Digital Media and Content Strategy team at the Getty Research Institute (GRI) and will be in charge of optimizing and streamlining department operations and resource allocation, advancing on production processes, and working in partnership with the team to adapt and monitor workflows as new projects and tools emerge. The Senior Digital Media Producer will work closely with the department head and our team to conduct quarterly planning assessments, monitor progress and sequencing of team resources, communicate with project stakeholders, and develop project plans and documents that may include project charters and problem statements, content briefs, RACI charts, stakeholder communications plans, content intake forms, gap evaluation summaries and recommendations, slide decks, and closeout reports.

The GRI’s Digital Media & Content Strategy department is a creative, united, highly productive, and award-winning team dedicated to publishing human-centered stories, multimedia content pieces, and websites about the GRI’s work and mission, including exhibitions, public programs, publications, archives and special collections, and research projects. Our content is featured across getty.edu and a wide range of heavily trafficked social media channels and outlets in service of advancing the GRI’s legibility and meeting user needs both locally and globally.

The ideal candidate for this Senior Digital Media Producer role is a highly organized self-starter and implementer, and thoughtful   team player who can work in partnership with others and has a thorough knowledge of the digital content production lifecycle from early creative iteration and ideation on through to publication and metrics evaluation and closeout report.

The Getty Research Institute is an international center for the study of visual culture and houses one of the largest art libraries in the world, with vast special collections materials ranging from the 15th century to the present.

Major Job Responsibilities

  • Frequently consult on long-range organizational planning concerning new or projected areas of digital content work
  • Evaluate projects, team resources, and work sequencing using project management methodologies and problem-solves practical concerns of department and various stakeholders
  • Work in partnership with department head and team members to improve workflows, production processes, and deliverables documentation and organization. Recommends and makes process improvements
  • Communicate complex information; create documents that demonstrate business need and project feasibility
  • Monitor, identify, and escalate potential project and resourcing risks, and recommend and implement strategies to mitigate them
  • Evaluate complex information and develop recommendations and documentation to address identified issues
  • Compile and distribute project information and department status reports
  • Grow and iterate on department tools such as AirTable and GoogleDrive. Train and coach team members to new features and documentation tools as needed
  • Work in partnership on scope of work for contractors, manage POs, track on budget expenditure
  • May manage discrete digital projects from conception through completion and serve as the primary contact for internal and external parties
  • Maintain transparent and clear communication channels, tactfully communicate deadlines, manage conflicting priorities, and keep assignments on schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferably related to digital media production
  • PMI-completed coursework a plus
  • 7+ years of experience
  • Substantive experience in media production and project management
  • A strong background in arts and humanities and knowledge of a cultural research environment is highly preferred

  • Ability to manage multiple and conflicting projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to diplomatically give and receive feedback, with strong team and management skills who can work with a wide variety of audiences.
  • Knowledge of best practices in user-centered design, UX and Content Design disciplines, and an audience-first approach preferred
  • Strong interest in developing new skills to expand possibilities of media production. Keeps current with trends and innovations in the digital community

Targeted Hiring Range:

$78,111 – $101,547 Annually
